30x30 Day 16 Tree Hugging

Today I killed a bug and I feel bad about it. It was a hornet flying around my office and I brutally killed it. I am allergic to bee stings and I didn’t want to take my chances. I don’t even want to explain how it was brutal, it was done so I didn’t have to get within a foot of it. I mean why was it in my office? It is 30 degrees outside, don’t bugs hibernate? And how did it even get inside?
I do not like killing nature’s things if I don’t have to but this was a special case. I am not a vegan like my friend Karen who doesn’t consume animal products whatsoever because she doesn’t believe in killing another life. I hate that I am a meat eater and that animals have to suffer in order for me to enjoy food. I could become a vegetarian but animals would still be harmed whether or not I eat their products. There is animal products in almost everything we consume everyday, from soaps to clothes to medical items and so much more. I commend my friend Karen because she reads every label on every item in order to make sure no animal bi-product is in it. I live in a matter of convenience, its lazy thinking, but I have to live with the conscience thought that an animal gave its life so I can enjoy its product.
So today I hug a tree and I will pray that the bug didn’t suffer a horrible death. I promise I am not kooky, but I don’t like anything to suffer, ok well maybe an x or two.

Record High

OK, I know you are thinking, what does a record high have to do with a blog post? Nothing really, but it did hit a record high of 92 degrees here in New York City. MY question is, is summer right around the corner and the last few days were only a tease? And no I don't think it is global warming, because you'd have to go back to the 1920's for the last record highs for these days. Ponder that.
Anyways what have I been up to you ask? I know it has been a while since my last post but really I have been a busy bee.

Well I went to see West Side Story on Broadway (3). It was a last minute idea on my friend's part, he is like that sometimes and it works out half the time. It is a good play and I recomend it to all. Do you see the black Chinese shoes (2)? Well my friend saw something on Etsy using those shoes that she wants me to recreate. I bought a pair for myself but I have different plans for those. Speaking of my friend, almost since the beginning of our friendship she has been a vegetarian, now as of the middle of last month she has been on her way to becoming a vegan. She is not doing it for diets sake, but for the animals. She has strong feelings about animal welfare and cares not to consume animal products. That's where the purple sneakers come in (4). The are vegan sneakers, from a vegan shoe store on the lower east side that the name is not coming to my mind at this moment, I'll get back to you on that aren't they cute and only $55. That same day I managed to spend way to much money on clothes and I had to get rid of other clothes to make space for the new ones. Oh and just the other day while shopping yes more shopping for shorts at Old Navy, I got these stockings (1) for 25 cents each. I love Peacock feathers I have them on everything I think I am going to cut them up and make a cover for my office chair.

Going back to those shoes my friend wants me to copy, is it OK to do so. I mean there is jewelery pieces by some designers that are similar to mine that are on there but I never saw their work nor have the designers seen mine. I don't know what to think, I just had to ask. Whatever ♥
