Apparently there is controversy over this 30x30, but for what. Seriously? I mean if someone doesn’t like something they don’t have to participate.
But there are always two sides to the story. Perhaps though they are friends with others who are doing the 30x30 and don’t want their inboxes clogged with updates to blogs about 30x30. I can see that being a nuisance. But maybe they think its to exclusive like a popular clique in high school or something to that matter. See I don’t have that many followers, although I want more and I figured besides getting myself out of the jeans, some ole top and a fleece I could make a few friends that like to do the same thing I have been doing for years.
See I work in a garage with dirty old trucks and mechanics. I love them and my job but seriously I'm getting into a rut. See I don’t have a special wardrobe that I am required to wear to work, who am I going to impress? I just need to at least look presentable and be comfortably safe at the same time.
Before I worked where I work now I wore suits and dress clothes. And how I miss my heels, skirts, suit jackets and dress pants that made me look slim. My job now those things wouldn’t be practical, I can’t wear heels or skirts because my job requires me to walk out into a construction yard and a mechanics garage and it would be unsafe and clothing like that would just get too dirty.
Back to my point. I am doing 30x30 because I am still a woman who cares about her look and I feel that at my tender age of 31 that its time that I should be dressing for my age and thinking about what suits me. At age 20 I could get away with anything, I could wear tight low cut clothes, loud colors, experiment with styles and not worry about what fitted me because I was in shape. Now I am trying to develop a style that I can work with for the next stage of my life. So you can say I'm in a transitional stage. I don’t know how other women are around my age but I just hope I’m not the only one going through the transition.
So now before I start dressing in mismatched, holey, dirty, ill fitting, and masculine looking clothes I am participating in 30x30. I will choose options that will be appropriate for my age, make me feel good about my body and most of all get me out of the complacent style I have been doing.
Now for your viewing pleasure a few pictures of me throughout the years. Please don’t laugh, ok you can because I am!
I was about 19 here.I still have the jacket and I was wearing platform booties. I was about a size 1. I totally wish I could go back to this body frame. The whole outfit except the shoes is Guess.
My 20th birthday. I think I still own the shoes. And I was wearing pantyhose here. gross. I was at work here and hose was required. This outfit probably came from where I was working at the time which was Macy’s.
Ok I think I was 21 or 22 here. Wearing some sort of mini skirt with clunky platform heels. I wish again I had this body now as it was a size 1 or 2. I have nothing of this outfit except the watch, though I wish I had the skirt and that it would fit my body now. I still have the legs to rock it.
I was 26 here. I still own these shoes, Issac Mizrahi for Target. And the velvet blazer is vintage and I still own it. I also own the drum stick and the leather obi belt. I call this the groupie look yet cool enough to hang in the East Village. My friends band had a gig that I went to.
There I let it all out. Me back in the day. Me when I didn’t have a real care in the world, my body was in great shape and it didn’t really matter what I wore.
On a different note I had to make a few changes to my wardrobe choices as the other choices had a few issues. I only changed out a shirt and a pair of jeans.
Me. Whatever ♥
Why is pantyhose gross? You looked very nice in them. You looked polished and professional. They complimented your outfit and PERFECTLY matched your shoes.
ReplyDeletePantyhose are coming back...beware...BEWARE !!!
